I’m using a PC, WinXP SP2 and never had a problem before today.

Flickr images do not show up anywhere on the ‘net, on my my blog or in Google Reader unless I’m using the IE Tab extension. The link is there on my blog, but the image can only be seen on the the Flickr site.

Elise received a Bokashi Bucket from a fan who ordered them for many of her friends.

Melanie worked at the one of the Farmer Market vendors

I’ve already asked at Mozilla Forums [waiting for reply] but I thought I ask here too.

Any ideas/solutions welcome.

Thanks,

Al

“The usual Christmas Day schedule will remain the same but on Monday, December 24, plus the Thursday and Friday following Boxing Day (December 27th and 28th), buses will be running on a Saturday schedule. Full story at News 1130.”

I guess all the Coast Mountain execs will be taking that week off, unlike 95% of the rest of the world who will be working.

By putting the entire week on holiday bus schedules, Coast Mountain is assuring riders there will be long lines and long waits for public transit. We should be encouraged to use transit to do our Christmas shopping, but the people who run our public transit clearly have decided we should all get in our cars and jam up city streets even more.

Subject: Why are you reducing service on the busiest days of the year?

Hello,

“The usual Christmas Day schedule will remain the same but on Monday, December 24, plus the Thursday and Friday following Boxing Day (December 27th and 28th), buses will be running on a Saturday schedule.”

http://www.news1130.com/news/local/article.jsp?content=20071121_172740_776

This is wrong. People go out

to shop [on Boxing Day and the days after]
to party
to visit friends

and they are still

working or
going to school or
to the library.

If there is less transit available, people will drive their cars more contributing to higher greenhouse gas emissions

This is not a sustainable option for a bus company.

I suggest you reverse your decision.

Regards,

Al

I love this creative blast from the past, but I think Richard Nixon might be starting to lose his relevance….

The sign makers told me this was not a real quote, but when you watch the video, Kevin Falcon says that the Gateway Project will not raise greenhouse gas emissions. Go figure.

I attended this on Thursday evening.

dj Cheb i Sabbah [wikipedia] is a world beat electronic dj [music via SeeqPod] and had a great time!! It was part of the City of Vancouver’s Celebrate Diwali event.*

It was co-hosted by Beats without Borders

…made up of 4 established world beat DJs, who spin the best dance music on the planet… from funked out afrobeat to sexy middle-eastern bellydance to bangin’ bhangra, we’ll rock the party, guaranteed.

Here are some pics:

and a short video:

Website: Cheb i Sabbah

*As I recall, Diwali celebrations were focused in the Punjabi Market area of Vancouver and were getting a bit rowdy and uncontrolled with fireworks going off and large groups of [young] people congregating in the streets. So making it a city wide event diffused that energy which some people are unhappy about.

With that question, wonderingmind42 -”a high school science teacher in the process of burning out” begins a 10 minute lecture on climate change / global warming and the consequences of doing nothing. Rightly so, he titles his video “Most Terrifying Video You’ll Ever See [and the most important]”

Stop Press!

DON’T WATCH THIS VIDEO [the link above]. I’m serious. This message isn’t a hack (I’m the guy in the video), and it’s not a ploy to get you to actually watch it (reverse psychology).

It’s just that there’s a hole in this argument big enough to drive a Hummer through because of an assumption I didn’t realize I had (isn’t that just the way with assumptions. . .), and the argument has been UPDATED to address that hole.

So instead of watching this old, tired, hole-y video, go watch the NEW, IMPROVED version

The cost of doing nothing is a lot more expensive and disastrous. Click, watch and share with everyone.

Then do something - change public policy - to avoid the negative [far worse] scenarios.

Click through to YouTube to see all the supporting material.
